Reza Abedian was born in the year of 1347 in the City of Tehran. He started his football career in Persepolis Fc before becoming the first team fix player under former Iranian legend, Ali Parvin. Reza started his Persepolis first team career in 1362 played for the top-tier Iranian team for 8 years. During his years in Persepolis, he scored over 40 goals, became the champions of Tehran for 2 years and also won Iranian championship. Reza also captained the Red Army (Persepolis’s nickname) for 2 years before heading to Pas Tehran and winning the Iranian League once more. In his last couple of years he joined Keshavarz Fc before starting his managerial careers. During his career, Reza played alongside Sirous Ghayeghran, Samad Marfavi, Nader Mohammad Khani, Mohammad Hasan Ansarifard and other well credited players.
Reza Abedian also has been invited to Iranian Youth National Football Team, Iranian National Army Football Team as well as Iranian National Football Team. He is well known for becoming Iran’s best goal scorer during an International tournament for Iranian National Army Football Team.
After retiring from Football, Reza started his managerial career by going through all the certificates. In 10 years time, he gained his D, C, B and A licence from AFC while finally obtaining his Pro Licence Fifa certificate. Reza is one of the few coaches from Iran, who has obtained this certificate. In his managerial career, he has experience in working as assistant manager in Persepolis U23, Kosar and Steel Azin alongside Hamid Estili.
Reza also managed his own soccer schools in Iran with over 200 students before moving to Toronto and starting his Academy in Canada. After moving to Toronto in 2009, Reza founded Excel Pro Soccer Academy running in all ages from youth to adults teams. Since 2011, Reza Abedian’s Excel Pro have managed to become Hangar Indoor League 1 Division 4 times as well as becoming Markham’s Adult Champions for 2 years.
